Hello friends,
My mommy is taking a few minutes to blog about all of my latest news while I take a nap. This napping thing is a rare occurance for Mommy, so she likes to take advantage of it. I'm just not into napping. I sleep about 11 hours a night so I'm all rested up to explore and learn. If I sleep during the day, I miss important stuff. I'm not willing to take that chance. But today is an exception because my parents are adding vegetables to my milk and cereal diet at dinner and I feel I need to be at my best for this experience. I plan to make it a super messy event. I'm sure Mommy will take pictures, but she better guard her iPhone against me throwing peas at her. Eating is an emotional experience for me. I just can't get enough! One time I was so eager to get my bite of oatmeal that I attacked the spoon thus sending cereal up my nose. Mommy had to use that snot sucker thing to get it out. Being a boy is fun!
I am officially changing my name to "Jake the Explorer." I am learning about my world with my mouth and hands. EVERYTHING goes in my mouth - Daddy's leg, my burp cloth, the dogs' ears, Daddy's nose, etc. I love to tap and pat with my hands. I scratch Mommy's and Daddy's nose when I'm trying to fall asleep. My super sized legs are going non stop. My favorite thing right now is my jumperoo. I bounce and laugh so hard I get the hiccups. That toy is loads of fun. I make lots of sounds, giggles, and coos. My smile is contagious (so I'm told). I roll over front to back and can push up really well on my hands when I'm on my tummy. I can sit up for a few minutes without support but then I faceplant. Ceiling fans and light fixtures always capture my attention and amaze me. Maybe I can go on my next outing to Lowe's and hang out in the light fixture and fan department. That would make GP proud!
This month I had my first Halloween. I was an exceptionally cute dragon and made it through a short photo shoot. I greeted some bigger babies who came to the door and demanded candy from Mommy and Daddy. Their parents made them dress up in silly outfits too, but at least they got candy. I had finally had enough, turned red, screamed, and collapsed in my Bumbo seat. That was my way of telling Mommy and Daddy that I was done with this costume.
I also enjoyed my first trip to the zoo. I saw lots of cute animals and really enjoyed the sounds they made. I even took a stroller nap and enjoyed the fresh air.
That's about all for now. I can't wait for my first Thanksgiving next week. I am also excited that soon I will have a new baby cousin, Sylvie. Stay tuned...
Love,
Jake
